British Foreign Secretary meets COAS

RAWALPINDI: British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond met Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif here at GHQ on Tuesday.

The two discussed matters of mutual interest including regional security state of affairs. British Foreign Secretary  urged Pakistan to accelerate the investigation into the attack on Indian air base.

Ensuring British support to Pakistan in war on terror he held: “Pakistan is the sufferer of terrorism and Britain will be a source of strength to Pakistan to take on the terrorizations it faces”. Hammond appreciated Pakistan Army’s efforts and sacrifices for stability in the region.

Hammond who is on a two-day visit of Pakistan also met other people including his Pakistani Counterpart Sartaj Aziz.
