10 power pilferers arrested in Mardan

PESHAWAR: The drive against illegal use of electricity is underway throughout the province to discourage power pilferage.

Taking action on the directives of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) officials, the PESCO Surveillance teams here on Monday caught 10 persons red handed for using illegal power supply in surrounding areas of Takhat Bhai, Mardan.

The raids were conducted under the supervision of SDO Sub Division Tayyab Jan, AACs Arshad Afridi and Asad Khan backed by heavy contingent of police personnel in various areas of the sub-division.

The team also disconnected direct power supply through Kundi in Muslim Abad, Pakistan Kalay and Killa Kalay and registered cases against the power pilferers.

Those were nabbed include Shah Zameen, Tahir Shah, Umar Khan, Abdul Hameed, Swab Gul, Liaqat, Ashur, Tajeem and Fazal Salam.

Police station of the sub-division started necessary action against the culprits following registration of cases.
