Karachi operation has not slowed down, says DG Rangers Sindh

NOORIABAD: Sindh Rangers chief Major General Bilal Akbar has expressed satisfaction that thanks to a Rangers operation in Sindh, especially Karachi, citizens feel confident and secure enough to travel long distances for adventure and entertainment.

He was speaking as chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the 3rd Hub Rally, Nooriabad, on Sunday afternoon.

About 15,000 people from Karachi, Hyderabad and other areas visited Nooriabad to witness eight races, including a women’s race, on the newly-prepared 32-km rugged track of international standard. The event, dedicated to the people of Tharparkar, was provided ample security by Rangers personnel.

“We Pakistanis are natural lovers of sports. We, especially our youths who make up some 65 per cent of the population, enjoy such exciting competitions. Our youths are our asset. We should engage them in more healthy activities. And Rangers are glad to have assisted in making Sindh safe enough for its people to come out of their homes without any fear of any kind,” Maj Gen Akbar said.

“Sindh Rangers today is one of the most active law enforcement agencies,” he said.

“Some people say the Rangers operation in Sindh has slowed down. It has not.

“You have to understand that we will be more prominent and active when there are more enemies to overpower. You will not see much action when the criminals have been weeded out as we don’t bother law-abiding citizens,” he explained.
