Netherlands’ Queen Máxima to reach Pakistan on Monday 25th Nov.

ISLAMABAD: Queen Máxima of the Netherlands is scheduled to land here on Monday 25th Nov. 2019 for a 3-day visit in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development.

The Queen will call on the President and the PM. She will also have rendezvous with a number of public/private sectors’ stakeholders. It is pertinent to mention here that Inclusive Finance for Development is one of the key priorities of the Govt of Pakistan for which it has taken a number of measures. Queen Máxima will also attend the launch of SBP initiative Micro-Payment Gateway, aimed at reducing cost of small payments and boosting digital transactions to benefit people and promote financial inclusion.UNSGCASince 2009, Her Majesty is actively engaged worldwide in promoting access of individuals and enterprises to financial services at a reasonable cost, with the aim of improving economic and social development opportunities as UN Secretary General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development.

Netherlands Queen Máxima to visit Pakistan as UNSGSA

ISLAMABAD: Her Majesty Queen Máxima will visit Pakistan from November 25 to 27 as a special advocate of the UN Secretary General for Inclusive Financing for Development. 

According to details Her Majesty will call on President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan during her visit. Queen Maxima will also attend the launch of the Micro Payment Gateway. Foreign Office informed that was an initiative of the State Bank of Pakistan aimed at reducing the costs of small payments and boosting digital transactions to benefit people and promote financial inclusion.

Pakistani Diplomatic Mission in Hague (Netherlands) has informed that in a series of meetings Her Majesty will discuss the progress of access to financial services to improve the economic position of the country’s inhabitants.

It  is pertinent to mention here that Queen Máxima focuses mainly on the importance of financial services for women. Only 7 per cent women have a bank account and gender-based data collection is needed to understand their specific access and use needs.

In Lahore, Queen Máxima will visit a number of projects that focus on digital financial services that, among other things, contribute to the development of entrepreneurs. Since 2009, Queen Máxima, as a UN special advocate, has been committed to making financial services accessible to all, including low-income groups and small and medium-sized businesses, and thus increasing their chances of economic and social development.

Queen Maxima calls upon President Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD: Netherlands’ Queen Maxima, who is on three-day visit to Pakistan, Thursday called upon President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad.

Speaking on the occasion, the President said that welfare of masses is the cornerstone of government’s development policy.

The President said government has put the economy on the right track through prudent policies. The fight against terrorism is about the a logical conclusion and soon Pakistan will announce a terror-free environment for whole world, he added.

The Queen said cooperation with Pakistan will continue for improving the economic situation of common man.
