Sindhi Cultural Day Photo Exposition (VIDEO AND TEXT)
KARACHI: On the occasion of the Sindhi Cultural Day an Exposition of photographs titled Mute Voices (II), depicting archaeological sites of Sindh, was held at National Museum here in collaboration with Alliance Française (French Cultural Centre).
Consul General of France, Monsieur Didier TALPAIN, while commenting on the exposition, said: “This is an event with multiple faces. The first is that these are very beautiful pictures taken by the participants of Alliance Française workshop. So we are very proud of it. And another face of this event is that all these beautiful sites are to be found here in Sindh. And I am extremely interested in the …world’s oldest bath (Mohenjo-Daro) as well as this big wall (Ranikot). I knew about it because I have read about it in books. But I have never seen such beautiful pictures.
“So I think it is a nice exhibition for two reasons: First what you can see in the pictures and second it is a very nice work produced within the framework of Alliance Française. I think it is very important. In every region of the world, there are days of the culture very focused on the place, province… .People from that place, province etc have something in common and one of these things is the past. So I think it is definitively a good thing. And we should – you here in Pakistan, in Sindh, we in France and everywhere around the world – organize these kinds of events.”
Expressing his views about the Sindhi Cultural Day Photo Exposition, Monsieur Gilles Pascal Director Alliance Française de Karachi held: “Alliance Française is very pleased to be a partner of this exhibition by Mr. Rahmatullah Khan and his students, who are members of Alliance Française. For decades now Mr. Rahmatullah Khan has produced (innumerable) photographers. We are happy to be part of this cultural event depicting the history of Pakistan.”
