2017 National Snooker Championship will be live from tomorrow!

KARACHI: The 42nd National Snooker Championship powered by Jubilee Insurance begins tomorrow (March 12th) at Karachi Gymkhana here. The championship is featuring a pool 56 players.

Muhammad Bilal is the defending champion of the tournament. The event will be tough and everyone would be eyeing the top spots because the two finalist will be rewarded with opportunity to participate in 2017 Asian Snooker Championship, which will be staged in Doha next month.

Pakistan’s number three and former International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) Champion Muhammad Asif said: “It is very important for every player to perform well in this event as it is a ranking championship. It is also the first event of the year so a good chance for marking a better start and boost your confidence.”

“We all are training hard, eight hours a day because having a fine practice is the key”, he further explained.

Five under-18 and under-21 players will also be showing their strength against top national snooker champs.

The 56 competitors are divided into eight groups, top two of each group will be promoted to last 16 knock-out round followed by quarter final, seminal-final and final. The event’s 15 frame final is scheduled to be held on March 21.
