KARACHI: The 26th Convocation of Hamdard University (HU) was held here on Saturday (24th Feb, 2024) during which PhD, MPhil, Master’s, Bachelor’s and associate degrees were conferred on 1,200 students and scholars.
Speaking on the occasion Chancellor Sadia Rashid encouraged graduates to become not only outstanding professionals but also exemplary citizens.
Chairman HEC Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad urged the faculty members to focus on shaping students into better human beings.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Shabib-ul-Hasan, while thanking Chairman HEC for his continuous support, informed that 3,000 students were enrolled in HU last year.
One of the gold medalists, Syeda Tehreem Hussain, who got her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Faculty of Eastern Medicine, introduced four years ago, highlighted her involvement in a cancer research at HU, particularly the discovery of a potential cure through Kalonji.
Emphasizing the importance of exploring natural healing products, Tehreem Hussain said she intended to continue research in this area while working as a clinical dietitian and nutritionist in major hospitals across the country.
Attributing her success to parents and teachers, she expressed her dedication to further research on natural products and contribute to the healthcare sector.
