GAZA: Israeli airstrike at Al–Shati Refugee Camp here on Wednesday (10th April, 2024) has claimed lives of 3 sons (Hazem, Amir, Mohammad) and 2 grandsons of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh.
Largely Qatar-based Haniyeh told that his children were visiting relatives at the camp in northern Gaza on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr when their vehicle was targeted. According to Hamas Chief, during the ongoing Hamas-Israel conflict, sixty members of his family had been killed.
“There is no doubt that this criminal enemy is driven by the spirit of revenge and the spirit of murder and bloodshed, and it does not observe any standards or laws…We’ve seen it violate everything on the land of Gaza. There is a war of ethnic cleansing and genocide. There is mass displacement,” Haniyeh said while speaking to Media.
Maintaining that the blood of his sons was not dearer than that of any other Palestinian, he thanked Allah for bestowing upon his family the honor of their martyrdom, and said: “Their pure blood is for the liberation of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, and we will continue to march on our road, and will not hesitate and will not falter.
“With their blood, we bring about hope, a future and freedom for our people and our cause...The enemy will be delusional if it thinks that targeting my sons, at the climax of the negotiations and before the movement sends its response, will push Hamas to change its position.”
