KARACHI (NPTV/UN): In an effort to promote playing enabling people (particularly children) thrive to their full potential, UN had observed 11th June, 2024 as the International Day of Play.
Sports is a universal language that fosters a sense of community, resilience and creativity. It is now known that restricting opportunities for play impedes child’s development. In educational settings, play-based learning has been recognized as an effective approach to engage students actively in the learning process.
It has also been noted that play promotes, tolerance, resilience, and facilitating social inclusion, conflict prevention, and peace-building. This day calls for policies, training, and funding to get play integrated into education and community settings worldwide.”
