KARACHI (NPTV/Radio Pakistan): NDMA has warned that due to augmenting temperatures and heavy rainfall KP and GB areas might experience Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOF).
GLOF will ultimately lead to increased water levels in rivers and streams, landslides and flash-flooding.
NDMA had instructed the departments to inform the people living in these areas as well as travelers to remain alert and avoid voyage if not necessary.
NDMA has launched the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert application, available on Google Play Store and iOS App Store, to provide timely alerts, advisories, and guidelines to the public.
