KARACHI: Workers of JUI (F), JI, PTI and ANP backed the countrywide successful shutter-down strike that was observed by traders against inflated power bills and tax reforms (particularly IMF- imposed Tajir Dost Scheme*) on Wednesday (28th August, 2024).
* sources have informed that traders were assured that under the Tajir Dost Scheme they would not be asked to pay more than Rs.1,200/- in taxes. But now even the small businesses and retailers were receiving inflated challans demanding 60 times the promised amount.
