MANHATTAN: PM Shehbaz Sharif met the delegation of US-Pakistan Business Council (USPBC) on the side lines of 79th Session of UNGA here on Friday (27th Sept, 2024).
The delegation comprised of President Esperanza Jelalian and other senior officials of the Council and corporate leaders. PM said that US foreign investments in all the sectors of the economy was one of the priorities of the Govt of Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif said the government was focused on further improving ease of doing business in Pakistan and American companies could benefit from policies in a number of sectors, for instance, tech, agriculture, pharmaceutical, oil/gas and mining.
Maintaining that US investors reckoned Pakistan as a favoured destination, USPBC President informed that a delegation would explore opportunities during its Pakistan visit. The Council, that was formed in 2002, is a national forum for US entities operating/exploring business opportunities in Pakistan.
