MEXICO CITY: 21-year-old entrepreneur, animal rights activist, aspiring lawyer and dancer by profession, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig made history by being the first to take the Miss Universe Crown to Denmark.
120 contestants participated in the annual beauty pageant’s 73rd edition, that was held for the 5th time in Mexico on Saturday (16th Nov, 2024) night. It may be noted that in the month of January, 2024 Mexico-based Legacy Holding acquired a fifty percent stake in Miss Universe.

Interestingly, 2024 Miss Universe was unique because, for the first time in the pageant’s 72-year-old history, women above 28 were allowed to participate. As a result Malta’s 40-year-old Beatrice Njoya became the first lady over 40 to reach the grand finalé.
