WASHINGTON: US State Department here acknowledged on Monday (16th Dec, 2024) that Pakistan had made progress in containing extremism.
However, the National Risk Assessment (NRA) on money laundering and terrorist financing also pointed towards rise in terrorist attacks in 2023. Following assessment of 87 terrorists outfits it transpired that 41 groups were providing money transfer service. Report also pointed out that porous border with Afghanistan was facilitating the cash flow.
