NATIONAL STADIUM (KARACHI): Cricket team of New Zealand has beaten Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final of Tri-Nation ODI series played here on Friday (14th Feb, 2025).
Green Shirts, that won the toss and opted to bat first, scored 242 runs in 49.3 overs. In reply, the Kiwis managed to achieve the target in 45.2 overs for the loss of five wickets. Pace bowler William Peter O’Rourke, who hunted four Pakistani scalps yielding 43 runs, was declared player of the match. Kiwi spinner Mitchell Santner sent two Green Shirts back to pavilion while Michael Bracewell dismissed another two.
Pakistani Captain Mohammad Rizwan, who faced 76 deliveries, scored 46 runs. Player of the series Salman Agha’s bat yielded 45 runs off 65 balls. Babar Azam (with the help of 4 boundaries and one six) scored 29 runs, Fakhar Zaman made 10, and Saud Shakeel made 8 runs.
