FLORIDA: NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who were supposed to stay onboard International Space Station (ISS) for a week in June 2024, returned to Earth after nine months on Tuesday (18th March, 2025) by means of SpaceX capsule that splashed down off the coast here.

Deputy Associate Administrator of NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate, Joel Montalbano remarked: “It is awesome to have crew 9 home, just a beautiful landing.”
Talking to journalists at a Presser, the Manager of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, Steve Stich, informed that: “The crew’s doing great”. Due to a fault detected in Starliner‘s propulsion system the Boeing spacecraft was brought back to Earth sans voyagers.

As part of the NASA’s crew-swap mission, SpaceX’s Falcon-9 docked at ISS carrying four astronauts enabling Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams (stranded for 9 months) on Sunday (16th March, 2025) 29 hours after launching from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center here.
