CAPE TOWN: Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool, who was recently declared Persona Non Grata and expelled by Trump Administration, was received by hundreds of supporters as soon he and his wife emerged from the terminal Sunday (23rd March, 2025).
Touched by the enthusiasm of the crowd who warmly received the couple, Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool exclaimed: “A declaration of persona non grata is meant to humiliate you. But when you return to crowds like this, and with warmth… like this, then I will wear my persona non grata as a badge of dignity.”
It may be recalled that while addressing the ladies and gentlemen who were participants of a Webinar, Ebrahim Rasool critically touched the topic of crackdowns on immigration, diversity and equity programs by Trump Administration. He maintained that there was possibility of a USA with white in minority.
