WASHINGTON: Trump’s Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other top security officials had shared the upcoming Yemen War Plan with The Atlantic magazine’s editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg who ran a piece (titled The Trump admin. accidentally text me its war plans) online Monday (24th March, 2025).
Trump’s Press Secretary took to the X to insist that no war plans were discussed and no classified material was sent to the Signal Group. Meanwhile, the National Security Council was figuring out how a Media person was added to the chain in Signal Group chat that harbors Defense Secretary, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump’s Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Jeffrey Goldberg informed that he received the invitation apropos joining the Signal Group from Trump’s National Security Adviser Mike Waltz: “US national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real”. He told that the post “contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Iran-backed Houthi-rebels in Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the US would be deploying, and attack sequencing.”
