ISLAMABAD: Train service that were suspended in Balochistan since 11th March due to BLA attack on Jaffer Express (going from Quetta to Peshawar), will recommence from Thursday (27th March, 2025).
Train 40-DN Jaffer Express will commence operating from Peshawar to Quetta 27 March;
Train 39-UP Jaffer Express will run from Sibi to Peshawar from Thu, 27th March, 2025;
Train 39-UP Express from Quetta to Peshawar will resume plying on Friday, 28 March;
Train 3-UP from Karachi to Quetta will resume service from Monday 31 March, 2025.

On 11th of March, after the train hijack, while UN SG Antonio Guterres called for the immediate release of the hostages, US had strongly condemned the hijacking of Jaffar Express (en route Quetta to Peshawar) harboring 440 voyagers (including soldiers going back to Peshawar in order to spend remaining Ramazan and Eid-ul-Fitr with their families).
“We strongly condemn the attack on the Jaffar Express train, and the hostage-taking of passengers in Kacchi, Balochistan, claimed by the Baloch Liberation Army, a U.S.-Specially Designated Global Terrorist group.
“We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims, their families, and all those affected by this horrific act. The Pakistani people deserve to live free from violence and fear.
“The United States will remain a steadfast partner of Pakistan in its efforts to ensure the safety and security of all its citizens. We stand in solidarity with Pakistan during this difficult time.”
