KALMAT (Gwadar, Balochistan): Militants, who blocked the highway between Pasni and Ormara here overnight, offloaded the voyagers from a Karachi-bound passenger bus, shot four Punjabi workers after identifying them by means of NICs and kidnapped three others.
In the Tajaban area, 3 trailers, that were transporting imported Urea from Gwadar Port, were torched. Section of Highway, that was blocked by militants, had been cleared and area is being combed to nab the culprits.
On 22nd March too unidentified militants shot four borewell drillers, from Sadiqabad (Punjab) dead. According to details, the incident took place at 2.30 pm in the Malangzai area of Kalat’s Mangochar city. The bodies were transported to Rural Health Centre Mande Haji for autopsy.
Earlier, on 16th March, a BLA suicide bomber detonated his jacket harboring explosives following an IED blast, carried out by another member of the outfit, near a FC convoy on Nushki-Dalbandin highway.
The assault claimed lives of three FC personnel and two civilians. Thirty-five (mostly para-military personnel) were injured (many gravely), who were treated at Noshki Hospital. Four militants (including the suicide bomber) were killed. The blast also badly damaged another bus parked nearby.
One hundred militants attacked the Police Stations and Levies Chowkis on the night of 8th March. They cordoned off the main bazaar, snatched weapons and other equipment from the Police personnel after taking them hostage, but failed to unarm the Levies due to their resistance.
Later the attackers set the buildings on fire thus annihilating records stored there. In the Zehri area too militants took the chowkidaars hostage and torched all the machinery that were being utilised at Sohndah dam.
