MADRID: Aryna Sabalenka has beaten the 21-year-old American Coco Gauff 6-3 7-6 (7-3) to claim her 3rd Madrid Open title here Sunday (4th May, 2025).
Holding her nerve under pressure Sabalenka successfully added the Madrid title to her wins in Brisbane and Miami. She congratulated Coco Gauff and said she was happy to see her back playing her best tennis. By securing her 20th career title, Sabalenka equalled Petra Kvitova’s record three titles in Madrid. This win also confirmed her position at the top.
