MACH (KACHHI DISTRICT): BLA’s IED attack on their truck here Tuesday (6th May, 2025) claimed lives of seven members of LEAs.
According to details those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for motherland include Subedar Umar Farooq, 42, resident of Karachi; Naik Asif Khan, 28, resident of Karak district; Naik Mashkoor Ali, 28, resident of Orakzai district; Sepoy Tariq Nawaz, 26, resident of Lakki Marwat district; Sepoy Wajid Ahmed Faiz, 28, resident of Bagh district; Sepoy Muhammad Asim, 22, resident of Karak district and Sepoy Muhammad Kashif Khan, 28, resident of Kohat district.
Earlier, Pakistan, [maintaining that TTP, BLA, and its suicide (Majeed) brigade, were utilizing weapons left behind by US troops, fleeing posthaste from Afghanistan,] has called for a global crackdown on flow of arms to terrorists. Syed Atif Raza, counsellor at Pakistan’s permanent mission to United Nations, while speaking at a United Nations Security Council Arria-formula meeting on Small Arms & Light Weapons Management in UN Sanctions Regimes, held here insinuated that such terrorists were also receiving external support and funding from India.
He said that: “Terrorist armed groups are in possession of billions worth of illicit arms abandoned in Afghanistan. We call upon our international partners to recover the vast stockpile of abandoned weapons, prevent their access to armed terrorist groups and take measures to close this thriving black market of illicit arms.” Atif Raza said militants were exploiting ungoverned spaces in Afghanistan to launch operations targeting both civilians and security forces in Pakistan.
A woman suicide bomber, associated with Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), attacked a convoy transporting FC personnel claiming life of a soldier on National Highway near Mughalzai area here on Monday (3rd March, 2025). Earlier, a Levies checkpost was attacked here on 16th Feb 2025 claiming life of one personnel and injuring two others. Due to retaliation by Levies force the assailants bolted from the scene of crime. The wounded are being given treatment at a medical facility in Quetta.
Security forces had neutralised 12 militants during an operation carried out in the general area of Mangocher here on the Fri/Sat (31st Jan/1st Feb, 2025) night. “On behest of inimical and hostile forces, this cowardly act of terrorism was aimed at disrupting the peaceful environment of Balochistan by targeting mainly the innocent civilians,” maintained ISPR while briefing about the clash that had also claimed lives of 18 FC personnel.
In a separate operation 11 militants were killed in Harnai district on 31st Jan, 2025. Security Forces and the LEAs were immediately mobilised, who thwarted the design of terrorists ensuring security and protection of the citoyens living in the terrain. An attack carried out by unknown militants at Shah Mardan check-post here on 16th Nov, 2024 night had claimed lives of seven security personnel deployed there. According to details, before storming the check-post with automatic rifles, militants lobbed grenades and launched rockets terrorists at the Frontier Corps (FC) check-post.
According to ISPR six terrorists were gunned down and four injured during the exchange of fire. Confirming the fatalities DC Kalat stated: “7 soldiers deployed at the check post lost their lives while 18 others received injuries in the pre-dawn attack.” The bodies and injured were taken to Combined Military Hospital in Quetta.
