He expressed US support for direct Indo-Pak dialogue and encouraged continued efforts to improve communications.
Expressing sorrow for the reported loss of civilian lives in the current conflict, Secretary Marco Rubio reiterated his calls for Pakistan to take concrete steps to end any support for terrorist groups. Similarly, speaking to Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, he emphasized the need for immediate de-escalation.
