GRAZ: A 21-year-old Austrian man from here, armed with a long and a handgun (both licensed), shot nine students (six girls and three boys) dead, wounded 12 others (one of of whom later succumbed to injuries) within 17 minutes in his Alma Mater (from where he did not graduate) before committing suicide in the bathroom of the same school Tuesday (10th June, 2025) morning.
Talking to journalists at a Presser, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker termed the shooting here a national tragedy, “a dark day in [the] history of our country”. taking to the X he stated: “The rampage at a school in Graz is a national tragedy that has deeply shaken our entire country. This inconceivable act suddenly tore young people from the life they still had ahead of them.”
