TEHRAN: The Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran is set to stop cooperation with UN watchdog IAEA until the security of it’s nuclear installations are guaranteed.
Although the bill was passed by Irani parliament on Wednesday (25th June, 2025), the executive will be able to impose its decision only after the approval of Supreme National Security Council.
Commenting on the development, Speaker of the Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf accused IAEA of putting its global credibility up for sale.
Noting that the Agency had even refused to appear to condemn attack on Irani nuclear installations Qalibaf said Iran would accelerate its civilian nuclear program.
In a Media briefing apropos Iran’s imminent adieu to NPT, DG of IAEA Rafael Grossi held: “This would be, of course, very regrettable. I hope this is not the case. I don’t think this would help anybody.”
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump told the reporters that America would engage Tehran, shortly: “We’re going to talk to them next week with Iran, we may sign an agreement, I don’t know.”
