NEW DELHI: In response to a legal demand the official X handle of Reuters has been withheld in India midnight Sunday (6th July, 2025).
X maintained: “In our continuing effort to make our services available to people everywhere, if we receive a valid and properly scoped request from an authorised entity, it may be necessary to withhold access to certain content in a particular country from time to time.”
Those attempting to open the Reuters’ X handle come across the message: “Account withheld. @Reuters has been withheld in IN (India) in response to a legal demand.”
