LONDON: A 23-meter turboprop plane (Beachcraft B200 Super King) crashed and exploded shortly after taking off from Southend Airport here Sunday (13th July, 2025) afternoon claiming 4 lives, including that of flight nurse Maria Fernanda Rojaz Ortiz.
Netherlands-based Zeusch Aviation (that specialises in medical evacuation and transplant flights), informed that a Dutch pilot, co-pilot, and 31-year-old German nurse Maria were among the four people who died due to crash.
Essex Police Chief, while speaking to journalists at a Presser held here informed: “Sadly, we can now confirm that all four people on board died. We are working to officially confirm their identities. At this stage, we believe all four are foreign nationals.”
Following the crash Southend remained closed on Monday. This is a small airport, 72km east of London, mostly utilized by easyJet and other short-haul flights.
