PAK-AFGHAN BORDER: Security forces have foiled an infiltration attempt by five Afghan suicide bombers (aged between 15 to 18) and nabbed them on Thursday (17th July, 2025) at 5PM.
On receiving intelligence apropos suicide bombers’ endeavour to cross the border, checkpoints were set up to prevent them from entering Pakistan. When they tried to proceed towards Azizkhel and Mandikhel, the terrorists were forced to take refuge in a Besikhel masjid, where they were arrested and taken to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
Militants, based in Afghanistan, regularly try to cross border in order to carry out attacks. For instance, a number of terrorists tried to enter Pakistan between the night of 5th-6th April. Security Forces engaged them and during the hours-long gun-battle neutralised eight, and gravely wounded four.
Pakistan has been asking the interim Afghan govt to fulfil its obligations and contain the activities of militants based in their ungoverned areas. It has further been insinuated that Taliban terrorists have been using modern weapons left behind by American soldiers who vacated the region posthaste.
