DHAKA: Thirty-one people lost their lives, 170 got injured when a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) training aircraft F-7 BGI (made in China) crashed into the Milestone School & College campus in the area of Uttara here on Monday (21st July, 2025).
According to National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, children as well as adults were hospitalised with burns. Dhaka Medical College & Hospital, that received body of a 3rd-grade student, is treating three burn patients.
The pilot of the BAF training aircraft F-7 BGI died while attempting to steer away from the human settlements but failed. Three platoons of the Bangladesh Border Guard are assisting rescue workers and Police.
It transpired, following keen observation of TV footage, that the Bangladesh Air Force avion rammed into the side of the Milestone School & College batiment causing a huge incendie that was doused by firefighters.
