BARCELONA: In order to contain the menace of overtourism, cruise-ship port here is set to close two of its 7 terminals.
According to the announcement made on Friday (18th July, 2025) by the city council, the closure will take effect next year. In order to develop sustainable mobility plan, funds have been provided to evaluate how the tourists (arriving via cruise-ships) circulate around the city. Furthermore, to make the cruise operations more sustainable, port infrastructure will also be modernised.
