ISLAMABAD: NDMA has issued on Tuesday (22nd July, 2025) a landslide alert for northern parts of Pakistan.
According to NDMA, due to expected downpour there is enlightened risk of landslides, mudslides and rockfalls in Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza, Astore, Diamer, Ghanche, Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Haveli, Bagh, Poonch, Chitral, Dir and Kohistan. Tourists as well as inhabitants of the region have been asked not to travel unnecessarily (particularly) on steep or unstable slopes.

Three tourists died, four got injured, fifteen others went missing, when Babusar area was inundated due to flash flood caused by heavy downpour on 21st July. According to details eight vehicles (used by tourists) were also washed away. Meanwhile, those wounded (one gravely) were provided treatment at the local medical facilities.
