BEIJING: UK-India signed a free trade agreement on Thursday (17th July, 2025) during a visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Taking to the X Narendra Modi stated: “A new chapter begins today in the India-UK economic partnership! The signing of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) reflects our shared commitment to enhancing trade, driving inclusive growth and creating opportunities for farmers , women , youth…”

Following three years of parleys, India and UK concluded talks on the trade pact in the month of May. They are attempting to take advantage of the incentives given by US President. The agreement endeavours to augment bilateral trade a further by $34 billion in the next 15 years.
