KARACHI: Alliance Française (French Cultural Centre here) was the venue where 38, senior as well as budding, visual artists converged from all over Pakistan to display their œuvres, depicting Sevasadan or Bazaar-e-Husn, novel penned a century ago by Munshi Premchand (1880 – 1936).

Sevasadan/Bazaar-e-Husn proclaims that, despite passage of a hundred years , woman in 21st century is still struggling to decipher her place in the world. The book was first published in Hindi in 1919 from Calcutta and Urdu in 1924 from Lahore.

President, Alliance Française de Karachi, Mona Siddiqui, inaugurated the exposition, that was curated by Anwer Kashif and Sidra Sattar.

Consul General of France Monsieur Alexis Chahtahtinsky was conspicuous among the large number of art aficionados who visited the gallery.
