WHITE HOUSE: While sitting with Zelensky and other European leaders here on Monday (18th August, 2025), Trump said: “We’ve had a very successful day thus far, important discussions as we work to end the killing and stop the war in Ukraine…We’re all working for the same goal. A very simple goal. We want to stop the killing and get this settled.”
Zelenskyy, while informing that he and other leaders from Europe had spoken to Trump apropos many very sensitive points,aid that he and other European leaders had spoken with Trump: “We had a very good conversation with President Trump, and it really was the best one — or, sorry, maybe the best one will be in the future.”
Zelenskyy said, he and Europe’s leaders had spoken with Trump about a number of sensitive points, including security guarantees, humanitarian efforts, prisoner swaps and more. He added that discussion on “territorial” issues would be saved for a trilateral meeting with Putin.
