Türkiye forbids its ships from using Israeli ports

ANKARA: Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, while addressing an extraordinary parliamentary session on Israel’s attacks on Gaza, has declared on Friday (29th August, 2025) that his country had totally cut trade with Tel Aviv, closed off ports to Israeli ships and were not allowing Turkish ships to portcall Israel.

Türkiye, that has also closed its aerospace for Israeli avions, accused Israel of committing genocide in Palestine; called for international measures against it and appealed world powers to stop their support: “We are not allowing Turkish vessels to go to Israel’s ports…We are not allowing container ships carrying weapons and ammunition to Israel to enter our ports, and aeroplanes to go into our airspace.”
