LAKKI MARWAT (KP): Unknown militants on Saturday (30th August, 2025) night, succeeded in detonating one of the two IEDs they had planted, and partially destroyed a girls’ primary school situated in Wanda Zahid Gul area, within the jurisdiction of Daddiwala Police Station here, sans any casualty.
Later the Bomb Disposal Squad defused the unexploded IED. It may be recalled that on 11th Feb militants have blown-up those of a PAF employee Taimur Khan in Miralam Manjiwala area here on 11th Feb night. According to details, unidentified militants, planted an IED inside the abandoned house of Taimur Khan and destroyed it by detonating the bomb from distance.
Militants hijacked three oil-tankers and abducted seven crew near Marwat Canal in the Tuchi bridge area on 7th July, when the convoy was coming from N. Waziristan.
In the Province of KP militants regularly carry out activities to disrupt the law and order situation. For instance on 2nd of July unidentified terrorists targeted a govt vehicle in Bannu claiming lives of Nawagai’s assistant commissioner Faisal Ismail, tehsildar Abdul Wakil, subedar Noor Hakim and constable Rashid, 11 others, who got wounded, were taken to nearby medical facilities.
A day earlier, militants gunned two traffic policemen (Israel and Sanaullah) down when they were travelling from their village to duty on the Ghazni Khel-Long Khel Road near Gul Baz Dehqan. Shooters also snatched official guns from the two slain cops before bolting from the scene of crime.
Attacks on the personnel of lEAs is a common phenomenon in KP. And operations against militants too are regularly carried out. For instance, fifteen terrorists, including ringleaders, were neutralised in two separate IBOs carried out by security forces here on 15th Feb.
According to details, the first Intelligence-Based-Operation was conducted in Hathala (area of Dera Ismail Khan district) during which nine terrorists (including ringleaders Farman alias Saqib, Amanullah alias Toori, Saeed alias Liaquat and Bilal) were neutralised. Those killed were in the Law-Enforcement-Agencies’ most wanted list due to their involvement in terrorist activities in the region.
Six militants were slain in the second IBO that was carried out in the general area of Miranshah in North Waziristan district. During the exchange of fire 21-year-old Lahoriite Lt. Muhammad Hassaan Arshaf paid the ultimate sacrifice along with three soldiers [Naib Subedar Muhammad Bilal (39), r/o Dera Ismail Khan district; Sepoy Farhat Ullah (27), r/o Lakki Marwat district; and Sepoy Himmat Khan (29), r/o Momand district].
