KARACHI: An ATC here has granted bail to the BYC Chief Dr. Mahrang Baloch on Sat (13th Sept 2025) in a case registered in 2024.
Last October, Mahrang Baloch was booked in a terrorism case as a FIR was registered by Malir district’s Quaidabad police on the complaint of a local resident who claimed that the BYC leader was inciting violence in his area. FIR registered at Saryab Police Station (Quetta) accused, among others, Dr. Mahrang Baloch, of terrorism, rebellion and murder.

Many BYC leaders including Sammi Deen Baloch, were taken into custody by Police that dispersed a manifestation held on 24th March, at Fawwara Chowk near the Press Club against arrest of Dr. Mahrang Baloch [(alongwith seventeen others,) during a crackdown on a dharna staged by them in Quetta. BYC also claimed three of their workers were shot dead by LEA personnel].
On 15th July Amnesty International (AI) had urged the Balochistan CM to allow Balochs exercise their rights to peaceful assembly and freedom of speech: “End the wider crackdown against activists and protesters across the province by allowing them to exercise their rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and expression without undue restriction.”
