Cyberattack affects boarding systems across Europe

LONDON: Cyberattacks at many airports across Europe (including Heathrow, Brussels and Berlin Brandenburg) have affected electronic customer check-in/baggage drop Friday night (19th Sept, 2025).

Hackers targeted MUSE software of RTX owned check-in and boarding systems provider Collins Aerospace. As a result major European airports were hit with delays and cancellations as the cyberattack affected boarding systems.

By means of emails RTX stated: “The impact is limited to electronic customer check-in and baggage drop and can be mitigated with manual check-in operations”.

Affected airports (Heathrow, Brussels and Berlin Brandenburg) saw long queues of voyagers due to numerous cancellations and delays. The administrations are attempting to restore normal operations.
