People of Kashmir to manifest on Monday

MUZAFFARABAD: Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC) is all set to stage a region-wide lockdown on 29th Sept, demanding their rights.

A JKJAAC leader said that the people of Kashmir were not campaigning against anyone, but for the rights of their citoyens that had been denied for seventy years. Islamabad had sent 2000 cops last week to contain the manifestation, but they were beaten up by the locals.

The people of AJK have started noticing that those outsiders in power were enjoying perks that a son of the soil could not dream of. The children of Ministers were studying abroad, while their children were made to sit on muddy floor of dilapidated structures they call schools.

On the instructions of the PM a meeting was held between the civil society’s striking coalition and the government a couple of days ago. Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Faisal Jamil Kashmiri and Anjum Zaman Awan from Muzaffarabad division; Sardar Umar Nazir, Sardar Iftikhar Zaman and Raja Ghulam Mujtaba from Poonch division; and Advocate Saad Ansari, Imtiaz Aslam and Tauseef Jaral from Mirpur division represented the JKJAAC side.

The ministerial team included Col Waqar Noor and Sardar Amir Altaf (PML-N), Raja Faisal Rathore and Chaudhry Qasim Majeed (PPP), and Deevan Ali Chughtai and Zafar Iqbal Malik (PTI Forward Bloc). AJK Chief Secretary and IGP. It is pertinent to mention here that earlier too when the Azad Jammu and Kashmir citoyens got inflated electric bills, they agitated and clashed with law enforcers. Following the bloody resistance, those who were earlier asked to pay Rs. 4000/- got amended bills of rupees forty only.
