AMMAN: Former Jamaat-e-Islami senator, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, taken into custody from Global Sumud Flotilla, has been released by Israeli forces Tuesday (7th Oct, 2025)
According to details senator Khan has safely reached the Pakistani diplomatic mission here with the support of Jordanian Government. He was taken into custody by Israeli forces early this month from Global Sumud Flotilla that was symbolically taking humanitarian aid to Gaza.
It is pertinent to mention here that following reports that Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF – a fleet of 52 small boats harboring 500 unarmed participants, symbolically) attempting to provide aid to Gaza was targeted by drones, Italy and Spain had sent frigates to protect it.
As the Global Sumud Flotilla neared Gaza unidentified object were dropped on and near the boats. The explosions not only obstructed communication but damaged the vessels as well.
