US Shutdown: Trump lays off thousands

WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump maintained on Saturday (11th October, 2025) that he had to layoff thousands of employees due to Democrat-Oriented Shutdown of Federal Government.

President Donald Trump, stated that he would not allow the Democrats to hold US Military, and the entire Security of the Nation, hostage, with their dangerous Government Shutdown. He directed US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth to pay military personnel despite the federal government shutdown. Trump maintained that Hegseth must make sure troops do not miss out on their regular pay cheque, scheduled for Wednesday (15th October, 2025).

Workers at treasury department, health agency, Internal Revenue Service and the departments of education, commerce, and Homeland Security’s cybersecurity division, are being sacked.

As Federal Government entities stopped functioning, an enormous number of its employees are forced to stay home sans remuneration. For instance, NASA is set to furlough 83% of its 18,218 workers.

US Federal Government’s fiscal year commences from 1st Oct, but since Congress failed to approve funding, it shut down on Wednesday. Although three quarters of a million Federal Government workers will have to stay away from work each day, until the shutdown is over, Military and Welfare Programs will keep on functioning.

Savants at the helm of affairs insinuate Obamacare funding (that enables poor citoyens access healthcare) is the major cause of divide.
