PAK-AFGHAN BORDER: Pakistan has seized 19 Afghan border posts after violent clashes at the Pak-Afghan border, during which Pak Army used heavy artillery (and tanks) overnight Saturday into Sunday (11th to 12th October, 2025).

ISPR stated: “On night 10/11 October 2025, in a cowardly terrorist attack, Khwarij belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij targeted Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan District.
“The assailants attempted to breach the perimeter security, however, their nefarious designs were swiftly foiled by the vigilant and resolute response of Law Enforcement Agencies personnel deployed on duty. In their desperation, the attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the gate.
“Displaying unwavering courage and professional excellence, Police personnel engaged the intruders, eliminating three khwarij belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij. While cornering remaining two intruding khwarij in a building complex who were later neutralised by Security Forces in a deliberate clearance operation with precision.
“In this intense exchange of fire, Six brave Policemen including Trainees, after putting up a heroic fight, embraced Shahadat in the line of duty, while twelve Policemen and one innocent civilian also got injured. During this heinous attack Khwarij attacked the mosque inside School complex and not only desecrated the Holy Place of worship but also barbarically killed Imam Masjid; an innocent civilian who was performing the duties of Imam Masjid at school.
“The sanitization operations in the area would continue and perpetrators of this heinous and cowardly act will be brought to justice. The security forces alongside Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan in step with nation remain steadfast in their resolve to eradicate Indian sponsored terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers and innocent civilians further strengthen our unwavering commitment of safeguarding our nation at all costs.“

The Pak-Afghan conflict overnight claimed lives of 23 Pakistan Army soldiers, while 23 soldiers were injured. ISPR stated: “According to credible intelligence estimates and damage assessment, more than 200 Taliban and affiliated terrorists have been neutralised, while the number of injured is much higher.”t.
Pakistani Security Forces informed that most of the Afghan Taliban Fighters, manning the captured 19 posts, were killed, the remaining militants managed to flee from the scene of clash. PTV has broadcast a footage showing the posts engulfed in incendie. The same video has shown Taliban Militants surrendering in Kurram.
Afghan forces carried out unprovoked firing at a number of places across the border including Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral (in KP) and Bahram Chah (in Balochistan). Security sources, maintaining that Pakistan was targeting the Taliban hideouts with great precision, stated that they had completely destroyed:

1) Taliban’s Manojba camp battalion headquarters;
2) Jandusar Post, Turkmenzai camp; &
3) Kharchar Fort.
Expressing its concern, Irani government has offered help to resolve issues between two S.A. neighbours by means of dialogue.

Saudi Arabia, with which Pakistan recently signed a mutual defence deal, stated: “The kingdom calls for restraint, avoiding escalation, and embracing dialogue and wisdom to contribute to reducing tensions and maintaining security and stability in the region.
“The kingdom affirms its support for all regional and international efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability, and its continued commitment to ensuring security, which will achieve stability and prosperity for the brotherly Pakistani and Afghan peoples.”

By means of a letter issued by the Media and Communication of its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State of Qatar stated: “Qatar expresses concern over border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, calls for dialogue and restraint.
“The State of Qatar expresses concern over the escalation and tensions in the border areas between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Afghanistan, and the potential repercussions for the security and stability of the region.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges both sides to prioritize dialogue, diplomacy, and restraint, and to work toward containing differences in a manner that helps reduce tension and avoid escalation, in order to achieve regional security and stability.
“The Ministry reiterates the State of Qatar’s support for all regional and international efforts aimed at strengthening international peace and security, and affirms its commitment to ensuring security and prosperity for the brotherly Pakistani and Afghan peoples.”

It may be recalled that the interim Taliban government here had accused Pakistan on 10th Oct, 2025 of violating its sovereign territory insinuating that the explosion heard in Kabul a day earlier was in fact aerial attack carried out by PAF.
Taking to the Social Media Afghan Defence Ministry maintained: “Pakistan violated Afghanistan’s airspace, bombing a civilian market in the Marghi area of Paktika near the Durand Line and also violating Kabul’s sovereign territory.”
When Pakistani military was asked by journalists about Kabul’s claims at a Presser, it opted to remain tight-lipped sans confirming nor denying the sorties-related insinuations. However, it is obvious that the Military is determined to eliminate those Afghanistan-based elements who are involved in killing its confrères.
