Al-Aqsa March: TLP stages overnight sit-in

LAHORE: TLP, that commenced its protest march in the Walled City on 10th Oct with the plan to reach the Capital in order to manifest in front of US diplomatic mission (located inside the diplomatic enclave), has staged a sit-in here overnight Saturday into Sunday.

According to sources one of the participants of the Labbaik Al-Aqsa Million March lost his life, while 22 got injured when the protesters clashed with Police. Ahead of TLP protest the local administration here has blocked roads and suspended the internet services.

It may be recalled that TLP had earlier announced a manifestation in front of US diplomatic mission in the Capital, taking advantage of the revered Friday when people congregate in large numbers for Jumma prayers at mosques. TLP workers had been instructed by their leaders to march and converge at Faizabad Interchange (known for TLP sit-ins in the past).

Protesters have been instructed to march towards Red Zone harboring embassies including that of USA. The authorities jammed the mobiles and made sure that the Faizabad Interchange was hermetically closed by means of shipping containers. TLP has requested the Capital administration to provide security to ‘Labbaik Al-Aqsa Million March’.
