KARACHI: Anthony Bellanger, Secretary General, IFJ, has congratulated renowned Pakistani Journalist & Media-Rights Activist G. M. Jamali on being elected as Member At Large (FAPaJ), International Federation of Journalists, Tuesday (14th October, 2025).
Election of G.M. Jamali as Member At Large (FAPaJ), IFJ, is an honour for the country and the achievement is being hailed by the Media community of Pakistan. As a trade unionist he had actively advocated for the rights of Media Workers, and for the Right of Speech and Freedom of Expression.
Immediate Past President of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists, G. M. Jamali has served twice as PFUJ President and as the Secretary General. He is in the field for a quarter century during which he had worked for the mainstream publications and channels of Pakistan.
Being elected as the Member At Large (FAPaJ) International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), G.M. Jamali will be able to raise his voice for the journalists of 42 countries of Asia Pacific. Brussels based, International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) represents six hundred thousand (600,000) journalists in about 150 countries.

پاکستان فیڈرل یونین آف جرنلسٹس کے فوری سابق صدر، جی ایم جمالی دو مرتبہ پی ایف یو جے کے صدر اور سیکرٹری جنرل کے طور پر خدمات انجام دے چکے ہیں۔ وہ ایک چوتھائی صدی سے صحافت سے وابستہ ہیں جس دوران انہوں نے پاکستان کے مرکزی اخبارات اور چینلز کے لیے کام کیا۔
بین الاقوامی میڈیا کمیونٹی پُر اُمید ہے کہ بطور ممبر ایٹ لارج جی ایم جمالی ایشیا پیسیفک کے بیالیس مما لک کے صحافیوں کے لئے آواز اُٹھائینگے۔ واضع رہے آئی ایف جے (جس کا مرکزی دفتر برلسز میں واقع ہے) دُنیا کے لگ بھگ ایک سو پچاس ممالک کے چھ لاکھ صحافیوں کی تنظیم ہے۔
