ISLAMABAD: Saudi Foreign Minister H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan on arrival at Foreign Office here on Tuesday (27th of July) was warmly welcomed by his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Talking to the journalists during a joint Presser held here on Tuesday, FM of the KSA spoke about establishment of Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council and termed it an important milestone to augment the bilateral terms to new levels and explore new opportunities of cooperation. Acknowledging the contributions of Pakistani community towards the Saudi economy H. H. told that during the Tuesday rendezvous provision of more opportunities in KSA to Pakistani citoyens was also pondered upon.
H. H. further stated that two countries would keep on endeavoring towards peace and security by attempting to resolve issues such as Kashmir, Palestine, Afghanistan and Yemen. Saudi FM said that both the countries will encourage their business community to interact more often in order to further strengthen the economic relations.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told that the talks primarily focused on promoting bilateral trade and investment. According to him the two sides have made a good progress towards the activation of Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council. Shah Mahmood Qureshi told that focal persons in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan would monitor the progress. Speaking about CPEC and SEZs, Shah Mahmood Qureshi pointed out that these offered enormous investment opportunities for KSA.
Pointing towards the Saudi Vision 2030, FM Qureshi said that Pakistan’s skilled, semi-skilled workforce and professionals could also contribute significantly. The two sides, FM told, were set to work towards promote cooperation apropos containing climate change, expanding terms in the domain of culture, information, media, entertainment and sports. Recalling KSA’s support to Pakistan on the issue of FATF, FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi thanked KSA and informed that KSA was also part of OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir.
