23rd of March: What exactly is Qarardad-e-Pakistan?

KARACHI: Pakistan Resolution or Qarardad-e-Pakistan was drafted by a 25-member committee of all India Muslim League.

The Resolution demanding Muslim autonomy was written by Muhammad Zafarullah Khan and presented by Fazl-ul-Haq. It was adopted at Muslim League General Session on 23rd March 1940 at Lahore’s Manto (now Iqbal) Park where Minar-e-Pakistan had been built. Reckoning the declaration as a call for a separate Muslim state, from 23rd March 1940 onwards Muslim League struggled for a state!

In their messages on the occasion President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan, eulogized the services rendered by the founders of Pakistan and urged Pakistanis to manifest discipline to combat coronavirus pandemic. President Alvi held nations have to go through difficult times but only with unity they sail through. Pakistanis also need to stand together to fight the pandemic.

Dr. Alvi stated that it was the responsibility of entire society, including ulema, Media and political leaders to play their due role in educating the masses about the preventive measures. Appreciating the services of doctors and health workers he said they were first line of defense in this crisis. Asking people not to panic the PM assured that the nation had the capability to steer clear through the current crisis.
