KARACHI: World observes 12th of August as Elephant Day. The day was conceived by Canadian film makers back in 2011.

The goal is to educate people about the diminishing number of elephants, share knowledge about the solutions for better care and management of both captive and wild elephants.

It is pertinent to mention here that presently there are less than 40,000 Asian and 400,000 African elephants in the world.
