34 militants neutralised in KP, Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: Security forces have neutralised 34 militants during five IBOs conducted in KP and Balochistan on Tuesday (24th Feb, 2026).

According to ISPR, twenty-six militants were killed during four encounters in KP. Eight more miscreants were neutralised in an operation carried out in Sambaza area of Balochistan. An Afghan national was gunned down, following exchange of fire, when a number of terrorists attempted to infiltrate via N. Waziristan border. During an IBO in Lakki Marwat district of KP three miscreants were killed.

Ten militants were gunned down in the Narmi Khel area of Bannu District (KU) while a dozen more were shot dead in Mir Ali (N. Waziristan). Following an intense firing, eight militants belonging to Zhob district of Balochistan, were slain. LEAs’ personnel recovered a large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives from the killed militants.

Suicide Bombing

Militants, based-in Afghanistan keep on attacking civil as well as military targets across the border. Pakistani Ministry of Interior had taken to the X to proclaim a major breakthrough in the investigation of the 6th Feb Imambargah suicide attack, claimed by Daesh: “Based on technical and human intelligence, coordinated raids were conducted in Peshawar and Nowshera districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province leading to the arrest of four facilitators, including the Afghan ISIS mastermind behind the attack”.

Ministry further maintained: “Evidence confirms that planning, training, and indoctrination were carried out in Afghanistan by ISIS. The nexus of terrorism under Afghan Taliban patronage remains a serious threat to regional peace. During the conduct of these operations, an official of Law Enforcement Agencies embraced martyrdom and four sustained injuries. Our forces remain resolute; further intelligence-based operations are underway.”

(* It is pertinent to mention here that 6th Feb, 2026 attack in Islamabad, that claimed lives of 36 people, was the deadliest in decades. Before that 60 people died when a suicide bomber driving a truck, laden with explosives, rammed into Marriott Hotel in the month of Sept, 2008).
