$35bn to be spent on energy projects under CPEC: Ahsan Iqbal




LAHORE: Minister for planning and development Ahsan Iqbal has said an amount of $ 35bn will be spent on energy projects under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

This he said while addressing a seminar on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor at Naval War College in Lahore on Tuesday.

Iqbal said CPEC will not only benefit Pakistan but the entire region.

“CPEC is a fusion of vision 2025 and China’s ‘One Road One Belt’ for future growth and development of the region,” Iqbal said.

The minister said, for the first time, the incumbent government has made prudent policies to generate electricity from That Coal project.

Moreover, the minister said that Gwadar Port will be linked with national highways and motorways.
