SANA MAHMOOD

KARACHI: Alliance Française de Karachi (AFK)’s main art gallery is the venue where one hundred snaps taken by forty participating members of Facebook Group ‘Aaj ka Random’ (AKR) will be displayed from Sept. 23 to 29 (9am to 7pm). Gallery will remain closed on Sunday.

AFK spokesperson while talking about the exposition told NewsPakistan.TV that the exhibition is not a competition, but more about people in the group, and their illustration.

It is more about the varied demographics representation from Pakistan, UAE, Belgium, UK, USA and many more countries: “And after joining AKR, members who had no propensity or only were interested in selfies and food pictures turned the camera or cell phones around.  The exhibition is about their observation and presentation in their unique way, and inspiring others”.

The exposition will be inaugurated on September 23rd at 6pm. Admission is free.

PS: AKR is a Facebook group for friends and friends of friends. Photographs shared are by a diverse group of people from several nationalities who posts photographs which are random, spontaneous, interesting, intriguing, and showing the ordinary in the most extra ordinary.  Not all pictures blows one’s mind away, but positive critique and respect forms the basis for encouragement to share.
